Curriculum and Timetables

The Prep School is a happy and supportive place where your child will embrace new educational challenges. From pre-school to year 6, our students are provided with a balance between structured learning and play; nurture and challenge. St. Dominic’s encourages all of our students to reach their full potential across the curriculum and in a range of extra- curriculum activities.

We offer a personalised and tailored education through a combination of traditional methods and the use of technology, innovation, and interaction. The curriculum is varied and engaging so that our students thrive and achieve their potential. Our students are encouraged to embrace the creative and performing arts; this is to enhance their personal approach to learning.

Dedicated and well qualified Prep teachers work alongside specialist subject teachers for sport, science, French, music, dance and drama.

Frequent trips and visits support topics in the classroom. All are enjoyable experiences which enhance and stimulate learning.

School Update

St. Dominic’s Priory School is currently open for all children in Pre-school, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 in addition to children of key workers across all years.

For those children who remain at home, the full curriculum is being taught daily by teachers via Microsoft Teams. Children can communicate with teachers and friends during lesson time and can download and submit their work online helping them to continue to be motivated and remain focused.

We have been conducting virtual tours, meetings and online lesson experiences for parents and children considering St. Dominic’s Priory School for their children and have places available across a number of year groups for September 2020.

We have received an unprecedented number of admissions in Year 9 for September 2020 and as a result have added an additional form class to accommodate. As a result we now have places available for Year 9 from September 2020.
