Outdoor Learning is a very important part of our Curriculum at St Dominic’s Priory School. The outdoor environment provides rich, dynamic and natural space for learning and development and is an essential learning resource. Outdoor learning offers opportunities for children to do things in various ways and on different scales compared to what they learn in the classroom. Children have the freedom to explore and investigate the natural world around them including the weather and seasons.
Our Pre-School Pupils have their own playground that backs onto the canal.
St Dominic’s Priory school is currently involved in the national Eco- schools project which involves children of all ages. Through the project the children learn about gardening and sustainability.
Throughout the year, staff arrange a number of varied educational visits outside of the classroom, which the children greatly enjoy.
