Life as a Cygnet at St Dominic's Independent Nursery, Staffordshire
As part of the Nursery, children join the Cygnets room by the time they reach 18 months old, staying until 2 1/2 years old depending on their needs and development.
The aim of the Cygnets room is to help your child grow and develop, but at the same time give them the love and nurture that they still need. All a at our Nursery are carefully planned. We base these activities around 3 important areas. These areas are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional
- Physical Development
- Communicaiton and Language
Meals and snacks are available according to your child’s session time. A healthy diet is provided, and individual dietary requirements are catered for. Good table manners are encouraged.
Our staff interact with and support all children in a way that positively affects their attitude to learning. Activities are planned but there is a combination of adult led/initiated and child led/initiated activities. We encourage children to make choices and develop independence by having equipment and materials readily available. Activities are well organised to extend knowledge, skills and understanding.
As an Independent Nursery, we follow the Early Years’ Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS), which is carefully structured to provide rich and stimulating experiences, which are relevant, imaginative, motivating, enjoyable and challenging.
