At St. Dominic’s Priory in Stone, your child will experience the very best possible start to their education. These early years are critical as children develop rapidly during this time – physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.
Our Nursery and Pre-school follow the Early Years’ Foundation Stage Curriculum, which covers three prime areas; communication, language and physical development alongside personal, social and emotional growth.
The Individual attention, small class sizes, excellent resources and happy environment are enriched with activities including dance, music, sport which is taught by specialist staff from our prep and senior school
Our catering company 'Olive' prepare and serve nutritious meals for the children, which are available according to the children’s sessions. Individual dietary requirements can be catered for.
Our Nursery is open from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday. We offer an early drop off option from 7.30 am to 8 am, for an additional charge of £10 per day per child.
The Nursery room structure is as follows;
Baby Doms - Children from the age of 3 months to 18 months
Cygnets - Children from the age of 18 months to 2 1/2 year’s old

We will be opening a new 36-week Pre-School from the 16th April 2018 for children eligible to start in reception class from September 2018 and also reception class from September 2019.
The new pre-school offering will be staffed by a qualified and experienced early years teacher along with a full time and part time early years’ practitioner and will operate as part of our standard school day, with the benefit of wraparound care being offered from 8 am to 6 pm.
This facility will be open during term time only and children will be required to attend a minimum of four-morning sessions per week.
Parents will be able to use the 15-hour nursery education funding as part payment towards the fees which will be calculated pro-rata to the number of days your child attends pre-school based on a termly fee. Please refer to the Academic Fee Sheet on the homepage.
Children move from pre-school to our Reception Class and find the transition much easier, as they already know their friends, teachers and surroundings. We focus on their individual needs during the early year’s foundation stage.
