Today Pre-school have been celebrating St David’s Day.
They have enjoyed learning all about St David, and the country he is patron saint of – Wales. They have talked about Welsh emblems (the daffodil and leek), where Wales is and also their flag.

The children have also had a go at making their own daffodil picture, whilst listening to Tom Jones!

St. Dominic's came away with two County Champions, one runner up and two fourth places after competing last week in the Staffordshire Schools Individual Table Tennis Championships held at Clayton Academy.

There were two round robin sections in the U13 girl's competition. St. Dominic's had three girls qualify for the semi finals. In the end, Caitlyn beat Holly in the final to finish as Staffordshire County Individual Champion and qualify for the All England National Schools Championships at Aldersley Stadium in April.

With 800 competitors and 30 schools, Bedstone is not only a highly competitive Championships, but it is also one of the toughest courses on the cross country calendar. It is an achievement in itself to complete the course around Bedstone, particularly for the younger runners. The sense of satisfaction in completing it is felt by all.

Top finishers were Caitlyn Disley Yr 7/8 (8th), Mary Ellis Yr 10/11 (17th), Isaac Graham Yr 7/8 (18th) and Joyella Yr 5/6 (22nd).

St. Dominic's finished as runners up in the Stafford & Stone Sports Partnership, Key Stage 4, Tournament.

Sophie Hughes and Mary Ellis anchored the singles matches and Georgia Glassey and Francesca Burda were our nominated doubles partnership.

The girls played teams from Blessed William Howard, King Edward V1 High and Alleynes High.
