On 23rd September, Primary 5 & 6 embarked on their 3-day residential adventure trip with The Bushcraft Company, to Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire. The grounds of this 19th-century castle were the perfect backdrop for a fun-packed residential trip where the children were accompanied by Mrs Talbot, Mrs Shelton & Mrs Wheatley.
Here are some snippets from the children:
''My favourite thing was the blindfold game on the final day. I was partnered with Grace and we took it in turns to be blindfolded in the woods. We had to feel for the rope which led us so we didn't fall. The blindfold game was so fun and exciting and we had to wear goggles so we couldn't see anything. We did have a safety hat on, in case we fell!'' - Mercy
''I loved learning how to safely use a knife. A 'warrior' is when your back is straight, a 'blood bubble' is when you draw a bubble around you, so you are safe. The 'blood triangle' is when your legs have to be straight and like a triangle, so you don't cut yourself. I really enjoyed learning the knife skills.'' - Rocco
''At 7.30 am we woke up and had a cooked breakfast, which included sausage, bacon and egg. The best dinner was the salmon because we helped prepare it all and cooked it on our campfire. One lunchtime we made our own pizzas and cooked them in the outdoor pizza oven.'' - Grace
''Twice a day, in the woods, we went to play some team games. We played sardines, even in the rain! No one wanted to play in the rain but I enjoyed it all.'' - Annie
''Everyone slept in their sleeping bags and on mattresses in the big bell tents. It took us a long time to get to sleep on the first night. At night time we had to go everywhere with a buddy, even in the middle of the night if we needed the toilet! I didn't sleep very well but I had a good time.'' - Amelie
'' I happily drank hot chocolate, brownies and s'mores. S'mores are my dream food and you make them with chocolate cookies and marshmallows. The brownies were delicious and chewy.'' - Rihanna
