Primary 6 pupils have been finding out about volcanoes in humanities.

Each pupil made their own volcano out of a bottle, card, newspaper and plaster before painting it appropriate colours. Then they used their knowledge of chemical reactions from the Science topic to make the volcanoes erupt.

They used a mixture of vinegar, food colouring, soap and bicarbonate of soda to create a lava flow.

P6 have also been researching real volcanoes and discussing the reasons people may live near to an active volcano.
