Pupils had the opportunity to sit in the pilot’s seat of a DC10 on a recent visit to Manchester Airport. They were shown how ICT is used within the airport; from baggage handling to airport security.

We were fascinated to see the world’s largest passenger plane the A380 arrive in from Istanbul.

We had the opportunity to Visit Terminal 1 and talk to the check-in staff, who shared their experiences and told us that one of the biggest items someone had tried to take on a plane in their luggage was a motorbike!

The day proved to me very educational and fun day for everyone. Students were informed about career opportunities within the airport and their suppliers.
