Applications Process for September 2020
Our school buildings are currently open for Key Worker's children, Reception, Year 1 and 6 age children (Primary 1 and Primary 6).
We are accepting applications from children who would like to join St. Dominic's Priory School in September 2020 across most year groups, thanks additional space created in our brand new teaching building, and scholarships are still available for Year 7 entry in September 2020.
Application Process - virtual admissions
A 'virtual meeting' with our Headteacher, Mrs Harrison, will be arranged followed by an online admissions assessment for your child. There will also be the opportunity for parents and children to speak with form teachers and other children in the same year, and we are able to arrange for your child to join their current year group in online lessons via Microsoft Teams, our virtual learning platform.
We are continuing to provide outstanding education to all of our children from their homes via Microsoft Teams and we are very proud of the way that children and teaching staff have adapted. Each class and subject group has their own team, and lessons are continuing according to the school timetable where possible. Microsoft Teams enables teachers to conduct their lessons with mobile, audio and video technology, with a chat wall function and the ability to set and receive work virtually.
We have a non-discriminatory policy which means that we are not prejudiced by race, colour, religion or sex.
Applications Process - when the school re-opens
Under normal circumstances families would be welcome to attend our Open Days and also visit the school indivudually to meet with our Headteacher, Mrs Harrison. We would encourage children to come into school for taster days so that they could get a feel for our school and make sure that the transition to St. Dominic's is as smooth as possible.
There is no formal assessment for entry to the Pre-school. Parents considering a place should please contact Louise Lloyd.
Students are welcome to join us at any point during the academic year as we have a rolling register.
Potential students are asked to take assessments over the course of a morning. If we are the right school for your child, they will then be invited to attend our school for two taster days.
Senior School and Entrance Assessment at 11+
The main entry point into the Senior school is at 11+(Y7) and after pupils have taken our Entrance Assessment in November or March, although applicants are welcome at any point during the academic year.
