Vicky Titley- Parent Governor

Vicky is married to Ian and has two children, Sophie and Matthew who attend St Dominic’s Priory school.

Vicky qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy in 1998 and has worked in North Staffordshire as a Speech and Language Therapist.  She is currently clinical lead for specific language impairment at Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Partnership Trust and leads a team of Speech and Language Therapists and Assistant Practitioners working in local schools. In 2016, Vicky qualified with an MSc in Health Service Management and has developed a keen interest in service improvement, quality and outcome measures. Vicky is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and is on the steering group of the RCSLT West Midlands Hub.

Vicky enjoys singing regularly in University Hospital Choir (who won first place in Newcastle Speech Drama and Music Festival 2017) and Bel canto a local a capela singing group.

Martin Ware - Parent Governor

Martin lives locally with his partner Lucy (a nurse) and their children, including his two daughters (Amanda and Hannah) and son (Daniel) plus a step-son (Malachi) and step-daughter (Leah, the eldest who lives in Manchester but visits regularly). Amanda is currently in year 8 at St Dominic’s. Martin and Lucy are very committed to their faith with religion playing a central role in their daily lives.

Martin has two master’s level qualifications both passed with Distinction: ‘Master of Business Administration’ (MBA) and ‘Managing Performance and Change’. Martin also has a degree in Marketing. He is a full member by qualification and experience with the Chartered Management Institute; Chartered Institute of Marketing and the British Institute of Facilities Management.

Martin brings with him a wealth of experience across private and public sector businesses. For ten years he worked for a multi-national company where he had spells managing an oil refinery site and other facilities on behalf of large organisations. Since 2008, Martin has worked for the NHS in various roles. He currently manages a team of 150 people overseeing more than £150m/yr of contracts for continuing healthcare and related services across Merseyside and Lancashire.


Peter Thorpe – Independent Governor

Peter comes from Hertford and attended St Edmund’s College, Ware and then St Mary’s College, Strawberry Hill where he qualified as a teacher. Initially, he read History, Physical Education and Education. He then obtained a degree in Educational Psychology and later an MSc in Education Management.

After working in several parts of the country, at posts including two Deputy Headships, Peter arrived in this area in 1979 to take over the Headship of St Gabriel’s Catholic School, Alsager. He later became Head Teacher of St Teresa’s Catholic School, Trent Vale. Alongside his work at St Teresa’s Peter took over a number of local schools where there was the need for a Head Teacher and he supported others where there was a temporary need. He has mentored inexperienced Heads and has been an Advisory Head Teacher for Stoke on Trent.

Other professional tasks during thirty-three years of Headship have included being an  External Advisor, working throughout the Midlands and the north of England, advising governors as part of the Head Teacher Performance Management process and acting as an Educational Consultant in various education authorities.

Peter is married to Pat and they have five children and seven grandchildren.

Peter has owned or been a partner in such diverse businesses as a public house and private rental properties. In recent years he has assisted his wife Pat in their shop.

Now retired, Peter is an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at St Teresa’s Catholic Church, Trent Vale where he is also a member of the parish finance committee.

Peter and Pat continue what has become a long-term labour of love as they renovate their house in France, the rebuilding of which is nearly complete after fifteen years.
